I'm a newbie when it comes to spicy foods because once, about 20 years ago, I was an innocent young female who was used to share a cous cous the locals (grew up with lots of neighbors from North Africa) so I was ready to share another one except this was at a restaurant and being the talkative I am, I was busy talking and didn't notice the amount of harissa in my dish, I can't tell you, I felt like one of those caracters in some Tex Avery cartoon, I thought my eyes would come out of their orbits and such...it was horrible, so painful...this left me with being so sensitive and of course probably "vaccinated" about spicy foods but I slowly started to trust and try again...I enjoy it more and more now...
